Military Sealift Command Relies on Unisys to Help Ensure Prompt, Accurate Pay for Mariners.


BLUE BELL, Pa. -- The U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command A major command of the US Navy, and the US Transportation Command's component command responsible for designated common-user sealift transportation services to deploy, employ, sustain, and redeploy US forces on a global basis. :UIS (graphics, programming) UIS - A VMS graphics programming interface package for VAXstations. ) a contract to provide maintenance and enhancements of the MSC's applications used to support daily operations of the command. The contract was awarded in June; work began in August.

Applications for which MSC requires support include the Unified Civilian-Mariner Payroll System (UCPS UCPS Union County Public Schools (North Carolina)
UCPS Unión de Colonias de la Puerta Sur (Jalisco, Mexico) 
); the Department Heads' Afloat Management System; (DHAMS) the Custody Material Receipt System (CRMS CRMS Colorado Rocky Mountain School
CRMS Customer Relationship Management System
CRMS Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist (National Association of Mortgage Brokers)
CRMS Castle Rock Middle School
); and Ships' Historical Ports and Dates and Mariner Service History (SHIPS).

Unisys will maintain archive data for the primary application, UCPS, in an accessible format, allowing for impromptu reporting and retroactive pay changes for the MSC civilian mariners. The time-and-materials contract is for one base year plus three one-year options, exercisable at the government's discretion. The estimated value of the base year is $1,297,000. If the government exercises all options, the total value to Unisys is estimated to be $5,358,000.
