Military Health System Renews, Expands Contract for HealthGate Content; HealthGate to Provide Healthcare Portal Content for 101 MHS Facilities.

BURLINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 2003

HealthGate Data Corp. (HGAT) announced today that the Department of Defense's Military Health System (MHS (1) (Message Handling Service) An earlier messaging system from Novell that supported multiple operating systems and other messaging protocols, including SMTP, SNADS and X.400. It used the SMF-71 messaging format. ) has renewed and expanded its contract under the TRICARE Online initiative. Under the terms of the new contract, HealthGate will provide healthcare content to the portal for the complete network of 101 MHS healthcare facilities worldwide. HealthGate previously supplied content for several MHS hospitals in a pilot program in conjunction with Integic Corporation. TRICARE Online has been a successful resource for MHS beneficiaries who, through the use of HealthGate content, can research health-related topics online through the portal for the MHS facility they regularly visit.
