Militants ambush security post in Khyber Agency, 5 personnel hurt.

Khyber Agency -- At least five security personnel wounded in an attack on their post by militants in Khyber Agency on Tuesday.

Official sources said that a group of militants ambushed the security forces post at Akka Khel area of the tribal agency, resulted injuries to five personnel.

Militants were later fled away in retaliatory action.

Security forces have initiated a drive to defuse planted land mines in the area officials said adding that four bomb were defused by the forces which had been planted by the terrorists.

In the mean time, militants ambushed the post injuring five soldiers. This area of Khyber Agency lies besides the Pakistan-Afghanistan Highway close to the Torkham entry point. Militants taking shelter in the area often attack NATO supply vehicles. Militants' presence in Tirrah Valley has caused a large number of tribal families to move to Peshawar and surrounding areas due to internal clashes amongst the outfits. Security forces are also engaged in aerial strikes against militants in the inaccessible Tirrah Valley.
