Mikron Instrument reports financial results.


OAKLAND, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 1996--Mikron Instrument Company Inc. ("MIKR") today reported results for the first quarter ended Jan. 31, 1996.

For the quarter ended Jan. 31, 1996, Mikron's revenues were $1,643,181, an increase of 18.9% over last year's first quarter revenues of $1,382,025. This revenue growth was attributable to the company's increased sales efforts and a better economic climate. Mikron's net income for the quarter was $30,452, or $.009 per share, an increase of 60.1% over last year's first quarter earnings of $19,019, or $.005 per share.

Selling, general and administrative expenses for the three months ended Jan. 31, 1996 were $777,000 as compared to $646,000 for the same period in 1995. This 20.2% increase represents the hiring of new personnel for the Sales and Quality Control departments and the write off for certain promotional materials.
