(Nasdaq:MIKR) shareholders elected three new outside directors to Mikron's Board at its annual shareholders meeting on July 24, 2000. Mr. Lawrence C. Karlson, since his retirement as Chairman of Spectra-Physics AB in 1993, provides consulting services to a variety of businesses and acts as a private investor in both seasoned and development stage companies. He is an outside director of Amerisource Health Corporation (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange ), CDI CDI compact disc interactive: a system for storing a mix of software, data, audio, and compressed video for interactive use under processor control Corporation (NYSE), Vlasic Foods International, Inc. (NYSE) and Spectra-Physics Lasers, Inc. (Nasdaq). Mr. Karlson will serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. William J. Eckenrode recently retired as the CFO See Chief Financial Officer. of Berwind Group, a privately owned investment management company which operates businesses in the industrial, pharmaceutical, natural resources, financial and real estate sectors. He has held financial and general management positions at United Aircraft Corporation, SPS Technologies, Inc., ITE Imperial Corporation and Fischer & Porter Company. Mr. Eckenrode is currently active as a Director of Berwind Financial Group LP and Berwind Property Group Ltd. Mr. Henry M. Rowan was the founder and currently president of Inductotherm Industries. The Inductotherm group of companies are engaged in such diversified activities as induction melting, heat-treating, power supplies, temperature controllers, metal machining, glass products and optical components.
