Mike Wallenfels Appointed President of Mountain Hardwear.

RICHMOND, Calif. -- Mountain Hardwear Mountain Hardwear, founded in 1993, is a California (USA) -based company that manufactures outdoor clothing, backpacks, sleeping bags, and tents. Columbia Sportswear purchased Mountain Hardwear in 2003 for a purchase price of $30 million in cash and $6 million in debt.  Inc., a leading brand in the mountaineering and outdoor clothing and gear industry, announced today that effective January 1, 2005, Mike Wallenfels will transition to President of Mountain Hardwear. Wallenfels, who currently serves as VP Sales and Marketing, has been with Mountain Hardwear since 1993. He joined the Company following a successful sales career with Sierra Designs, and has contributed to the outdoor industry at large by serving as a board member of the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) for the past four years.
