Mikdad, Arnous Discuss Situation in Syria with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister.

Fayssal Mikdad on Friday discussed with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Zhai Jun is an Assistant Foreign Minister in the People's Republic of China.  the situation, Syrian-Chinese relations, and China's stances regarding the region.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign and Expatriates Minister Ahmad Arnous, the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus, and the delegation accompanying Jun.

In a statement to the press after the meeting, Jun said that preliminary talks were holding during the meeting, with the two sides exchanging opinions regarding the situation in Syria and discussing means to boost cooperation to face this difficult stage in Syria.

He added that China affirmed af·firm

 its principal stance regarding the Syrian issue in that the sovereignty sovereignty, supreme authority in a political community. The concept of sovereignty has had a long history of development, and it may be said that every political theorist since Plato has dealt with the notion in some manner, although not always explicitly. , integrity, independence and safety of the Syrian territories must be respected by all sides and by the international community, adding that China supports the Syrian people's independent choice, national dialogue and future reforms, voicing hope for achieving progress in this field.
