The first product launched under Migo's newly acquired Stompsoft line of software utilities, XP to Vista Easy-Sync Suite comes complete with three products designed to provide a dependable safety net for both novice and experienced users as they make the move to Windows Vista at home or at work. In addition to handling application and other computer settings, the suite is flexible enough to transfer all or just the few critical files you most want on your new Windows Vista-based system, including financial statements, business documents, email, irreplaceable family photos and video, expensive libraries of downloaded media and more.

"The migration of computer data is a sensitive process that can be a complicated and risky activity," said Rob Halligan, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Migo Software. "We designed new XP to Vista Easy-Sync Suite to be truly complete, with everything even novice users would need to easily and safely migrate their data to a new PC with Windows Vista. What's more, we added software that allows users to prep their old PC for new use after the migration to Windows Vista is complete."

XP to Vista Easy-Sync Suite is designed for users who want to transfer the contents of a computer using Windows XP to a new PC running Windows Vista, or for those who simply want to change to Windows Vista on their existing computer. It safely moves everything the user needs, including files, folders, application settings, email, browser history, bookmarks and settings for printers, network connections, displays and instant messaging Exchanging text messages in real time between two or more people logged into a particular instant messaging (IM) service. Instant messaging is more interactive than e-mail because messages are sent immediately, whereas e-mail messages can be queued up in a mail server for seconds or  applications. It supports the migration of many applications not handled by other solutions, for a more complete range of options. It also supports the conversion of email messages, account settings, address book and contacts from Microsoft Outlook For the e-mail and news client bundled with certain versions of Microsoft Windows, see .

Microsoft Outlook or Outlook (full name Microsoft Office Outlook
([R]), Outlook Express([R]), Eudora([R]) and others to new Windows Mail The e-mail and newsgroup client in Windows Vista. Windows Mail replaced Outlook Express, which has been the light version of the Outlook mail client in previous versions of Windows. .

Users are guided through the transition by an easy wizard interface, which includes an "undo" command in case they want to reverse the process. The software comes complete with a high-speed data transfer cable, and is bundled with Stompsoft by Migo's DriveWasher so users can protect themselves by permanently erasing everything on their old computer, or use it to help prepare the old PC as a second system.

"Windows Vista clearly adds an exciting new dimension to computing," said Mike Hummell, Senior VP of Corporate Development for Migo Software. "The new fact of life is a mixed environment consisting of PCs running Windows Vista and older systems running Windows XP co-existing in homes and businesses. XP to Vista Easy-Sync Suite is designed to be the tool for that market, because it enables the safe and easy transition to Windows Vista, and it cleans the old XP systems that will remain. People expect that kind of complete solution from Migo Software, and we're happy to once again provide them with the right tool at the right time."

XP to Vista Easy-Sync Suite is now available for sale in major retail stores including Fry's Electronics Fry's Electronics is a specialty retailer of software, consumer electronics, computer hardware and household appliances with a chain of superstores headquartered in Silicon Valley.
