Simtek Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: SRAM), the inventor, pioneer, and world's leading supplier of advanced monolithic nonvolatile static random access memory Static random access memory (SRAM) is a type of semiconductor memory. The word "static" indicates that the memory retains its contents as long as power remains applied, unlike dynamic RAM (DRAM) that needs to be periodically refreshed (nevertheless, SRAM should not be confused with  (nvSRAM) integrated circuits Integrated circuits

Miniature electronic circuits produced within and upon a single semiconductor crystal, usually silicon. Integrated circuits range in complexity from simple logic circuits and amplifiers, about 1/20 in. (1.
 released its mid-fourth quarter update.

To date in the fourth quarter:

--New orders in October exceeded any other "first month" of any quarter this year and are on pace to be the best quarter of the year

--Volume of legacy devices continue to increase and are on pace for a best quarter of the year

--Probe yields are steadily improving on 1 Megabit devices and manufacturing costs have been reduced by more than 65% from second quarter

--First "test" silicon has been received on the 0.13 micron development with Cypress with a variety of test structures and is proceeding on schedule

--On-time delivery performance has improved by more than 15% on legacy devices and more than 50% on 1 Megabits during the last two quarters

"As in the third quarter, factory support for customer demand is improving. Fourth quarter should show sustained growth above the second to third quarter rate. With growth in bookings Simtek is positioned for steady growth into 2006 in the range of 40% to 50% or more," said Harold Blomquist. "Production output should exceed customer demand on high volume products and wafer starts are projected to support customer demand into 2006. To this point, orders are ahead of any prior quarter this year with October being the second largest in the year and November projected to be even higher. Backlog is building for scheduled delivery on both legacy and 1 Megabit devices for first quarter 2006. Orders from the distribution channel have resumed at a brisk clip."
