Microsoft to preview Windows 7 at GITEX.

Microsoft Gulf announced that technology fans in the Middle East will receive a sneak preview of its latest operating system, Windows 7 that will run on new PCs at GITEX Technology Week and GITEX Shopper & Consumer Electronics Expo in Dubai.

The new desktop operating system will be demoed five days prior to the global launch that is scheduled to take place on October 22. Visitors will also be able to buy Windows 7 pre-loaded onto laptops at GITEX Shopper.

As Platinum sponsor of the GITEX Technology Week and Global Conference and GITEX Shopper, Microsoft Gulf is playing a leading role in GITEX Technology Week, including a high-level keynote speech.

Microsoft will also have additional speakers at the GITEX Global Conference, who will deliver a range of presentations throughout the exhibition and at the new Vendor Theatres located in the Consumer Electronics sector.

Microsoft Gulf will also host a stand at GITEX Technology Week to meet its business clients in the Middle East. In addition, Microsoft will also host an 'experience stand' at GITEX Shopper to showcase how users can take advantage of the powerful new functionality in Windows 7 and Windows Mobile. "Windows 7 is one of the most exciting software products to hit the market in years," said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre. "It is a privilege that Microsoft Gulf is allowing technology fans in the Middle East a sneak preview at GITEX Technology Week and GITEX Shopper ahead of the product's global launch.

Windows 7 delivers the fundamental performance, reliability, and security features users expect and is designed to be compatible with the same hardware, applications, and device drivers as Windows Vista. New features help protect privacy and data and enables end users to be productive no matter where they are, or where the data they need resides.

"With Windows 7, Microsoft is delivering a foundation for unmatched customer experiences across applications, services, and devices," said Charbel Fakhoury, General Manager, Microsoft Gulf. "GITEX Technology Week and GITEX Shopper is perfectly timed to coincide with our global launch date and is the fitting location to introduce our latest offerings to our customers and partners in the region." GITEX Technology Week is open to trade and business professionals only, while GITEX Shopper is designed to bring the best offers in consumer electronics straight to the buyer.
