Microsoft selects ENTEX as primary provider of desktop support services for the Information Technology Group with award of three-year multi-million dollar contract.


RYE BROOK, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 10, 1995--ENTEX Information services See Information Systems.  today announced that Microsoft Corporation (company) Microsoft Corporation - The biggest supplier of operating systems and other software for IBM PC compatibles. Software products include MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows, Windows NT, Microsoft Access, LAN Manager, MS Client, SQL Server, Open Data Base Connectivity (ODBC), MS Mail,  of Redmond, Washington Redmond is a city in King County, Washington, USA. It is situated on the eastern edge of the Seattle urban area, in what is known as the Eastside. In 2003 the Census Bureau estimated the city population was 46,391. , has awarded a three-year, multi-million dollar contract to ENTEX to be the primary provider of desktop and network support services support services Psychology Non-health care-related ancillary services–eg, transportation, financial aid, support groups, homemaker services, respite services, and other services  for Microsoft's Information Technology Group. The contract calls for ENTEX to provide comprehensive on-site helpdesk, desktop and network support services to over 16,000 Microsoft end-users at 25 locations across the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. .

As part of the contract ENTEX will have a dedicated team of over 275 PC services professionals to provide on-site support at Microsoft headquarters and at some locations around the world. ENTEX has over 100 highly trained PC technicians A person responsible for the maintenance of desktop computers within an organization. Such individuals troubleshoot problems and may be responsible for some level of software distribution. If required, preventive maintenance may fall under their jurisdiction.  stationed on site at Microsoft headquarters in Redmond providing technical support in order to maximize end-user productivity and minimize desktop downtime. Over 30 ENTEX technicians are dedicated to Microsoft locations across the country. This Technical Services team provides Microsoft with daily solutions to their desktop and network support needs. In addition, ENTEX has over 50 Network support professionals to support network operations and strategic project roll-outs for Microsoft.

Microsoft has also named ENTEX as their exclusive outsourced Help Desk provider for responding to daily calls from end-users for hardware and software troubleshooting, from all domestic Microsoft locations. This dedicated centralized cen·tral·ize

 Help Desk is staffed by over 45 ENTEX helpdesk professionals in Redmond, Washington, which serves as the hub for all of Microsoft's Help Desk needs. If a solution to a Help Desk call cannot be resolved over the phone, an ENTEX technician is dispatched to the location of the call to provide on-site assistance. ENTEX has been supporting Microsoft's European Operations and Data Center in Dublin since December of 1994, handling network support and monitoring for over 160 network servers and more than one terabit of data. In addition, ENTEX has been supplying help desk services and desktop technical support for the European Operations and Data Center. ENTEX established a European headquarters for technical support and network design in Dublin with the support of the Industrial Development Agency of Ireland in March of 1995 in order to support Microsoft European operations.
