Bucureşti, city (1990 pop. , Romania, was awarded the Microsoft Grand Prize, which included a $20,000 cash award and a software package valued at $8,000. The three first place winners, each awarded $2,000, were Yeang Ch'ng, Ho Young Choi, and Carly Short, all students at American universities American University, at Washington, D.C.; United Methodist; founded by Bishop J. F. Hurst, chartered 1893, opened in 1914. It was at first a graduate school; an undergraduate college was opened in 1925. Programs provide for student research at many government institutions. . The contest, which received entries from more than 7,700 students from over ninety countries, was created to help photography students transition from academic work to a professional career.
