Micron Technology, Inc., Welcomes Two Virginia Microelectronic Consortium Scholars into Its Internship Program.

:MU), one of the world's leading advanced semiconductor solutions providers, today announced the addition of two Virginia Microelectronic Consortium (VMEC) scholarship recipients into its summer internship program in Manassas, Virginia. As part of the program, seniors are placed at several Virginia universities or at major semiconductor fabrication facilities for 10 to 13 weeks.

Micron interns work and learn beside some of the technology industry's finest, most respected professionals. A Micron mentor is assigned to Chuon and Crump to guide them through the internship program and collaborate on real-time microelectronic projects while working in a state-of-the-art fabrication facility.

Micron's internship program's objectives are designed to recognize talented students excelling in academic and leadership skills, support a spirit of innovation and leadership in the microelectronics industry, and promote careers in high technology fields. All internship program activities are specifically designed to help students gain valuable, real-time, on-the-job industry experience.

Biographies

Khemara Chuon is majoring in computer science and computer engineering at George Mason University and expects to graduate in May 2007. To apply for Micron's Intern Program

Future interns enrolled in full-time colleges, universities or technical schools, and planning to continue their education following completion of the internship, may apply for Micron's Intern Program at http://www.micron.com/jobs/college/intern.html. In order to be eligible, candidates must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, be 18 years of age or older, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Qualified candidates for Micron's Intern Program must major in one of the following disciplines: chemistry, computer information systems, computer science, engineering (computer, electrical, environmental, industrial, manufacturing, and mechanical), materials science, microelectronics and physics.
