Microcellular foam goes electric. (Injection Molding).

The MuCell microcellular process from Trexel Inc., Woburn, Mass., is now being used on all-electric presses. Currently, there are three commercial MuCell applications running all-electric in the U.S., says Dan Szczurko, Trexel's v.p. of business development. *13*

One of the first is custom molder Kaysun Corp. of Manitowoc, Wis. It has a Toyo Si-150 model from Toyo of Japan (represented here by Maruka U.S.A. Inc., Rockaway, N.J.), equipped for MuCell. Kaysun, a molder of electrical, electronic, and automotive products, is conducting tests with the unit and has qualified several parts. Two other firms using all-electric models with MuCell do not wish to be identified, says Szczurko.
