MicroTRAK to Showcase New GPS-Based Vehicle Security and Location Tracking Products at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas; Parents of Teens Rejoice and Car Thieves Beware.

 (GPS) technology and products, today announced it will showcase its line of vehicle security and tracking products in the Trimble booth #103 this week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) being held Jan. 5-8, 2006 in Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. MicroTRAK will introduce an entirely new class of vehicle security system that combines advanced, proprietary GPS technology and a global digital wireless network with real-time tracking on the Internet. Until now, consumers have been limited to "theft recovery-only" systems that utilize outdated radio-frequency technology which requires local law enforcement agencies A law enforcement agency (LEA) is a term used to describe any agency which enforces the law. This may be a local or state police, federal agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).  and vehicles to be equipped with specific hardware to track stolen vehicles. At CES, MicroTRAK will display its full line of vehicle security and tracking products including:

--AutoTRAK -- The basic theft-recovery product that once activated, will pinpoint the exact location of the stolen vehicle nationwide.

--AutoGUARD -- The most comprehensive of the MicroTRAK products, it automatically triggers the vehicle's alarm system if moved without authorization, and notifies the owner if the vehicle leaves a prescribed area (known as "geo-fencing") or a pre-selected speed is exceeded. AutoGUARD interrupts the vehicle's starter, thus disabling dis·a·ble

--SlimTRAK -- The smallest and most portable of the MicroTRAK products, SlimTRAK fits in the palm of one's hand and can be moved from vehicle to vehicle or used to protect a wide variety of assets including people, equipment or personal items.

--FleetGUARD -- This system helps keep track of company vehicles and can monitor the progress of a field sales force, delivery fleet, etc. Fleet GUARD also provides 2-way text messaging Sending short messages to a smartphone, pager, PDA or other handheld device. Text messaging implies sending short messages generally no more than a couple of hundred characters in length.  over the Internet which is integrated into the reporting screen.

Users of MicroTRAK products can locate and track their vehicle at any time on the company's secured Web server.
