Micro opens in Hong Kong, will export to U.S.

A small brewery, generally producing fewer than 10,000 barrels of beer and ale a year and frequently selling its products on the premises. Also called boutique brewery, brewpub.
 will begin production at the end of May. "We have sound reasons for projecting an enormous growth curve for microbrewing throughout the Pacific Rim," said Peter W.H. Sazerac is one of the oldest producers of distilled spirits in the U.S., and has recently expanded its scope to include other beverages, including beer.

According to David Haines, South China's managing director, the new brewery will keg and bottle its products, and will distribute them to Hong Kong pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. The company will also market its beer in the United States, he said, although distribution will be initially limited to the Chinese restaurant sector.
