Micro hardness testers measure soft elastomers used for O-rings.

This second series of the company's IRHD IRHD International Rubber Hardness Degree  hardness tester line is said to offer more convenient and user-friendly operation. Accurate IRHD micro hardness measurement of soft elastomers such as o-rings, seals and gaskets, with thickness down to 0.6 mm, is said to be guaranteed.

The IRHD Micro Compact II is said to offer new advantages with an excellent price/quality ratio. Testing of o-rings, molder samples with irregular shapes, seals, etc., is said to be an ideal application for this model. A quick center lever is said to allow quick and precise positioning Precise Positioning is a term used to describe techniques to obtain the location of an object to better than a few centimeters of accuracy.

Historically precise positioning was associated with surveying and geodesy.
of the samples, and the measuring head comes with an integrated display and keypad for ease of use. The IRHD Micro Compact II comes with a standard RS-232 data interface, as well as exchangeable indenters.

The quick centering devices, Barofix and Centrofix, are said to allow ideal positioning of o-rings, as well as elastomer elastomer (ĭlăs`təmər), substance having to some extent the elastic properties of natural rubber. The term is sometimes used technically to distinguish synthetic rubbers and rubberlike plastics from natural rubber.  tubes and hoses for precise hardness measurement on the suitable section of the samples. The optional Hard-Test Windows-based software offers data logging, management of articles, display of graphics and hardness curves, statistical evaluation and further analysis of the measured values.

The IRHD Micro Compact II is said to fully meet and exceed ASTM ASTM
