 Studio Festival Award. This award recognizes excellence in the implementation of the Studio Festival Program, one of MTNA's Music For Everyone Programs.

Gordon, is a private piano instructor in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts Mattapoisett is a town in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 6,268 at the 2000 census.

She has studied with Eleanor Carlson at the University of Massachusetts The system includes UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth (affiliated with Cape Cod Community College), UMass Lowell, and the UMass Medical School. It also has an online school called UMassOnline.  at Dartmouth and Jose DaCosta of the New England Conservatory. She is the immediate past president of the Massachusetts Music Teachers Association (MMTA MMTA MultiMedia Telecommunications Association

) and president of the MMTA Local Southeastern Chapter. She annually judges piano students in the Syllabus Exams of the MMTA.

"The National Piano Foundation (NPF) was pleased to be able to present the Studio Festival Award to Michelle Gordon," says NPF Executive Director Brenda Dillon. "NPF's mission is to contribute to the professional well-being of the teaching community and to support the music study success of piano users. The Studio Festival Program encourages teachers to offer a noncompetitive atmosphere to inspire students in their musical abilities. Michelle Gordon is an excellent example of a teacher who supports the music study success of all her students."

She has had articles published in 2003 and 2004 in the technology section of Keyboard Companion magazine and is a member of the Technology Committee of the National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy. She has presented sessions on technology at the MTNA MTNA Music Teachers National Association
MTNA Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (McMinnville, Tennessee) 
 conferences in Salt Lake City in 2003 and Kansas City in 2004. Gordon also presented in Chicago at the 2003 National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy. She presented a workshop on technology in April to the Pittsburgh Piano Teachers Association.
