Michel Majerus: If We Are Dead, So It Is.

With a booty of painted and computer-printed quotations lifted liberally from art and pop culture alike, the Berlin-based artist Michel Majerus offers a hybrid experience. Like a spectator before an interactive computer-animation screen, the visitor to Majerus's shows becomes at once observer and actor whose movement through the space transforms the mural into moving pictures. At Kunstverein director Udo Kittelmann's invitation, Majerus will cover the interior surface of a skateboarders' half-pipe running the length of the 164-foot gallery. Glide through on foot or, even better, on roller blades--but don't let the museum guards catch you! Oct. 21-Dec. 23.
