Michael Sabia to Succeed Dereck Burney As CEO.


MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 1999--

Bell Canada International (BCI) today announced the appointment of Michael Sabia as Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, effective October 1, 1999. Jean C. Monty, President and Chief Executive Officer of BCE Inc., will become Chairman of BCI, at the same time.

Derek Burney, currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer will be leaving the company to become President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Mr. Sabia is currently Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Canadian National Railway Company Canadian National Railway Company (NYSE: CNI, TSX: CNR) is a Canadian rail transportation company that operates the Canadian National Railway.
