Michael Kovins of Korg USA dies.


Michael Kovins, president of Korg USA, died May 2, 2006. Kovins, who worked with the company for 26 years, served as Korg USA president for the last 14 of those years. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Katherine.

A respected music industry figure and always a strong advocate and supporter of music education, Kovins was instrumental in creating Korg USA's SoundTree educational division, and was the founder and an executive committee member of TI:ME TI:ME Technology Institute for Music Educators , The Technology Institute for Music Educators. He was a recipient of the Berklee College of Music's Golden Clef award for Lifetime Commitment to Music Education, the Julia E. Crane International Medallion for Lifetime Achievement in the Music Products Industry, and the 2006 Distinguished Alumnus ALUMNUS, civil law. A child which one has nursed; a foster child.
