Miami-Dade College Partners With mun2 To Produce ``Chat''; First Program to Air Saturday, July 19th at 7 p.m.

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2003

Miami-Dade College has partnered with mun2 television, the leading cable network targeting young Hispanics in the United States Hispanics in the United States, or Hispanic Americans, are American citizens or residents of Hispanic ethnicity who identify themselves as having Hispanic Cultural heritage.[1] According to the 2000 Census, Hispanic Americans constitute roughly 12. , to produce the weekly interactive show "Chat," the first talk show to provide a forum for young U.S. Latinos.

MDC's North campus will provide its production facility for the taping of 26 episodes of "Chat," and mun2 will provide the school with a producer, director, post-production and editing. The rest of the production crew will be comprised of students.

"This partnership with mun2 television provides a great opportunity for our students to be practitioners in their field of studies while they are still in college," said North Campus President Dr. Jose A. Vicente.

In addition, mun2 will offer a student scholarship for a second-year TV student in the amount of $2,000, a 16-week student internship internship /in·tern·ship/ (in´tern-ship) the position or term of service of an intern in a hospital.
