Metso Paper establishes Chinese company expanding office network.


Metso Corp., Helsinki, Finland, will call its new company Morse Paper (China) Co., Ltd. The new company will incorporate the activities of Metso Paper's Beijing representative office that has been in operation since 1992 and Metso's Service Technology Center in Wuxi, in operation since 2001.

In other Metso Paper News:

* The company signed a contract with Minfeng Special Paper in China to supply a seven-roll OptiLoad calender CALENDER. An almanac. Julius Caesar ordained that the Roman year should consist of 365 days, except every fourth year, which should contain 366, the additional day to be reckoned by counting the twenty-fourth day of February (which was the 6th of the calends of March) twice.  at its mill in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province. The calender will be used with a 3.5 meter wide Voith paper machine that produces label paper.

* Rottneros Rockhammar AB, Rottneros Mill, Sweden, has placed an order with Metso Paper to install the latest chip conditioning technology. Delivery includes a plug-screw feeder and a chemical impregnator. Newly available technology has convinced Rottneros to install a one stage system to replace its former two-stage system. Installation and start up will take place in September 2003.

* Metso Paper will rebuild UPM-Kymmene's Rauma mill's Number 2 Paper Machine. The value of the modernization order is in excess of EUR EUR

* Severoslovenske Celulozky a Papierne a.s. Ruzomberok, a member of Neusiedler Group, Slovakia, is investing in both production increase and process improvements to reduce environmental impact of the mill. Metso Paper received a contract to carry out the required modifications. One of the key technologies in achieving these targets is Metso Paper's high consistency ozone bleaching process known as ZeTrac. The scope of supply also includes rebuilding existing screening and washing systems retrofitting the single-stage oxygen delignification into a two-stage OxyTrac process and adding a complete pulp bale bale
