Metso Minerals unleashes spider.


Metso Minerals, Cedar Rapids Cedar Rapids, city (1990 pop. 108,751), seat of Linn co., E central Iowa, on the Cedar River; inc. as a city 1856. The second largest city in Iowa, it is named for the surging rapids in the river. , Iowa, says its four-pin spider rotor has generated multiple sales thus far in 2003.

Metso Minerals Metal Recycling says its spider rotor assembly delivers 500,000 to 1 million tons or more of rotor life to many of its customers, and no welding is required during the rotor's lifetime.

"The Metso rotor is the heaviest rotor available on the market and adds 50 percent more workforce than our closest competitor's rotor," says Bill Tigner, Metso's vice president and general manager.
