Metso Automation Launches kajaaniROTARY(TM) Consistency Transmitter for the Pulp and Paper Industry.

NORCROSS, Ga. -- Metso Automation introduces kajaaniROTARY(TM), a force balance principle-based rotating consistency transmitter featuring durability, accuracy, ease of operation, as well as leading-edge self-diagnostics, providing users a better view of consistency measurement in Pulp and Paper applications.

The kajaaniROTARY transmitter measures the shear force shear force

Force acting on a substance in a direction perpendicular to the extension of the substance, as for example the pressure of air along the front of an airplane wing. Shear forces often result in shear strain.
induced torque generated by the pulp fiber network. It consists of an electric motor driven shaft pair, comprised of two concentrically aligned, flexible connected shafts allowing the inner, measuring shaft to have a phase shift in respect to the outer, drive shaft drive shaft also drive·shaft
n.
A rotating shaft that transmits mechanical power from a motor or an engine to a point or region of application.
.

Advantages of the kajaaniRotary over other Rotating Transmitters:

--Temperature Compensated Output

--Self-Diagnostics

--Software-Programmable Calibration and Configuration

--Rotation Speed Compensation

--Foundation Fieldbus(R) & Profibus(R) Communications available

--Digital Current Controller

Operation of the kajaaniROTARY transmitter can de done by using an easy-to-use local user interface TCU (Transmission Control Unit) A communications control unit controlled by the computer that does not execute internally stored programs. Contrast with front end processor, which executes its own instructions.  or remotely by digital communication over the 4 - 20 mA output loop, HART(R) communication protocol.

Total support, including sophisticated calibration methods and thorough diagnostics, is available via Metso Field Care.

The kajaaniROTARY consistency transmitter is available now. For more information, contact Craig Hannah @ Metso Automation, 2900 Courtyard Drive, Norcross, GA., 30071. Phone: 678-772-9584. Visit us online at www.metsoautomation.com.
