Metropolitan State Appoints University Advancement Vice President.

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Metropolitan State University President Wilson G. Bradshaw has appointed Robert H. Heuermann vice president for university advancement and executive director of the Metropolitan State University Foundation, effective Feb. 21.

Heuermann will serve as the university's chief development officer, providing strategy, leadership and implementation of the university's potential comprehensive campaign and other fund-raising activities. Areas reporting to him include alumni relations and annual giving, communications and marketing, grants and development, and publications and news services.

Since 2004, Heuermann has been assistant chancellor, university advancement, at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, Wis. He was development director for Columbia St. Mary's Foundations in Milwaukee and for St. Mary's Foundation Ozaukee, Mequon, Wis. Heuermann has served as annual giving director for Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, and director of annual giving/major gift officer for Illinois State University, Normal, Ill.

"Bob Heuermann is an accomplished development professional. Because of his wealth of experience and demonstrated administrative acumen, I am confident Bob will serve Metropolitan State University and its Foundation with distinction," said Bradshaw.

Heuermann holds an associate degree in business administration from Illinois Central College, East Peoria, and a B.S. in communication from Bradley University, Peoria. He completed course work for a M.S. in communication from Illinois State University.

His recent community involvements are many and varied. In Menomonie, he is a member of the Menomonie Noon Rotary Club, the Stout Historical Association and the Historic Building/Events Committee. He is a member of the Mequon-Thiensville Sunrise Rotary Club in Mequon, Wis. He assisted with significant building renovation for Avenues for Homeless Youth in Minneapolis. He volunteers with Project Ujima in Wauwatosa, Wis., assisting with programs and youth activities.

Heuermann and his wife, Wendi, have two daughters, Brittany, 22 of Milwaukee, and Samantha, 14, and live in Hudson, Wis. Wendi is executive director for Avenues for Homeless Youth in Minneapolis.

The position became available when Mark N. Langseth, former university advancement vice president and foundation executive director, accepted a development position at Portland State University in Oregon.
