Metropolitan State Appoints University Advancement Vice President.

, Minn. -- Metropolitan State University President Wilson G. Bradshaw has appointed Robert H. Heuermann vice president for university advancement and executive director of the Metropolitan State University Foundation, effective Feb. 21.

Heuermann will serve as the university's chief development officer, providing strategy, leadership and implementation of the university's potential comprehensive campaign and other fund-raising activities. Areas reporting to him include alumni relations and annual giving Annual giving is one of the most important areas in an organization’s fundraising efforts. Annual giving consists of many separate solicitation vehicles. He volunteers with Project Ujima in Wauwatosa, Wis., assisting with programs and youth activities.

Heuermann and his wife, Wendi, have two daughters, Brittany, 22 of Milwaukee, and Samantha, 14, and live in Hudson, Wis. Wendi is executive director for Avenues for Homeless Youth in Minneapolis.

The position became available when Mark N. Langseth, former university advancement vice president and foundation executive director, accepted a development position at Portland State University in Oregon.
