Metromedia International Group announces nationwide expansion of paging joint venture in Uzbekistan.

) has announced that its joint venture with the Ministry of Communications of Uzbekistan has begun its first phase of a nationwide paging expansion in Uzbekistan.

This first phase of the joint venture, Kamalak Paging, will double the original 4 million population coverage. Kamalak Paging will eventually cover 75 percent of the 22 million population in Uzbekistan.

The joint venture, through MMG's wholly owned subsidiary Wholly Owned Subsidiary

A subsidiary whose parent company owns 100% of its common stock.

Notes:
In other words, the parent company owns the company outright and there are no minority owners.
 Metromedia International Telecommunications Inc. (MITI), will initiate paging services in Samarkand, Bukhara and Andijan during September 1996 as an extension of its current offering of 24-hour wide-area paging service in the Tashkent region.

The expanded service will cover the Samarkand and Bukhara regions as well as a majority of the Fergana Valley Fergana Valley or Ferghana Valley, region, 8,494 sq mi (22,000 sq km), divided among Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The Fergana Range (part of the Tian Shan system) rises in the northeast and the Pamir in the south. .
