NetBeacon was designed to meet service providers' need to scale for very large networks, to identify severity of alarms quickly and to route that alarm to the appropriate technician, and to allow strict port-level access control policies system wide. Real-time monitoring of line quality, laser power, and equipment temperature and power enable proactive maintenance Proactive maintenance is a maintenance strategy for stabilizing the reliability of machines or equipment using Proactive maintenance services. Its central theme involves directing corrective actions aimed at failure root causes, not active failure symptoms, faults, or machine wear  that can decrease network outages and increase customer uptime.

NetBeacon(R) ESP is an integral part of Metrobility's carrier Ethernet product line. It provides an extensible and secure element management system for the Company's Radiance product family. NetBeacon ESP incorporates an easy-to-use interface to support secure, centralized cen·tral·ize

NetBeacon ESP's headless server architecture creates an 'always on' management system to ensure that element information is constantly being monitored. A sophisticated hierarchy of alarm notifications can be customized by the administrator based on severity. Alarm notifications include audible alarms, visual color-coded alarms, and alarm notification via email, phone or pager.
