SPRINGFIELD Event highlights Springfield: Groups, organizations and individuals who make Springfield what it is will be the focus of "Proudly Springfield," running from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at City Hall, 225 Fifth St. The family-oriented event will feature interactive displays from community organizations, student entertainment and remarks from city notables, including Mayor Sid Leiken. Ranch celebrates Historic Week: Dorris Ranch Living History Farm will celebrate National Historic Preservation Week, Saturday through May 18, with two workshops and an open house. "A Sense of Place - Photographing the Historic Dorris Ranch," runs Saturday and Thursday at Tomseth House. "American-Indian Culture and Music: The History Behind the Drum," is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the barn. Nick Sixkiller, education specialist for the Siletz Tribe, will present an explanation and performance of drum music and culture. "Dorris Ranch Open House" will be from noon to 5 p.m. May 18.
