EUGENE

League unit meetings set: The topic of March unit meetings of the League of Women Voters League of Women Voters, voluntary public service organization of U.S. citizens. Organized in 1920 in Chicago as an outgrowth of the National American Woman Suffrage Association, it had as its original nucleus the leaders of the latter organization.  of Lane County will be "Our Latino Neighbors."

In an effort to better understand the growing Latino community in Lane County, the league is conducting interviews with Latinos, social service organizations, school administrators and teachers, health service providers and community leaders.

March meetings will be:

Bark for sale: The Springfield Lions Club is taking orders for its 20th annual bark sale, which runs through March 23.

Hemlock hemlock, any tree of the genus Tsuga, coniferous evergreens of the family Pinaceae (pine family) native to North America and Asia. The common hemlock of E North America is T.  bark costs $70 for 2 1/2 yards, fir $59 and garden compost $55. Other Rexius products can be delivered by pickup or truckloads, with free delivery in the metro area.

Unit loads can be delivered immediately, other orders on March 23. All proceeds aid local sight and hearing needs and community college scholarships.
