The Board of Methodist Mission The Methodist Mission was founded in Oregon Country in 1834 by the Reverend Jason Lee. The mission was started to educate the Native Americans in the Willamette Valley and grew into an important center for politics and economics in the early settlement period of Oregon. Northern announced last month it was planning to lease its aged-care homes and hospitals to a private operator yet to be determined. This follows plans announced by the Salvation Army Salvation Army, Protestant denomination and international nonsectarian Christian organization for evangelical and philanthropic work.
