Metering/mixing systems.

The SilcoStar 902A and 922A metering and mixing systems are available for production of articles made from liquid silicone robber (LSR). The SilcoStar 902A system for five gallon pails and the SilcoStar 922A system for 55 gallong drums are both powered by a hydraulic slave drive system. This is said to provide an exacting metering and mixing process for a large range of silicone viscosities at exacting volumes and constant flows. The hydraulic backbone of the system is said to significantly reduce shot time, while still maintaining smooth constant material flows during the filling process. The company's mixing concept is built upon a standard mixing block, a material pressure reduction valve, a PLC controlled hard alloy needle pneumatic shut-off valve which opens and closes the fluid flow as demanded by a 24 volt signal from the injection mold machine, and an easily removable 12 element stainless steel static mixer. The final result is said to be a constant smooth material flow and stable continuous mixing feed. The company's color dosing system option consists of a pneumatically controlled piston feed pump and a 2.5 gallon color hopper which can be refilled without loss of production time and can pump a large range of pigment viscosities.
