Metco Resources Inc.: Matagami-Beginning of 2005 Drilling Programme.

MONTREAL -- Metco Resources Inc. (Metco) (TSX VENTURE:MKO) is pleased to announce the beginning of the 2005 drilling programme in Matagami. The first three holes are all located inside the eastern block of the Du Dome-Matagami Property where a zinc tuffite was intersected twice by diamond drilling in 2004. They are all oriented on very precise targets deducted from the last two drilling programmes. Afterwards the following holes will depend on the results obtained from these first ones. The first, ongoing hole, of 675m in length is targeted at two (2) Pulse EM anomalies indicated under hole 1288-04-13. The second one, of 325m in length, is targeted at an anomal axis InfiniTem target corresponding to the tuffite intersected in holes 1288-04-09 and 1288-04-12 and is located 200m to the east of this latter one. The third one, of a 375m length, targets two InfinitTem anomalies, one corresponding to the copper veinlets (1.15% Cu / 3.5m) intersected by hole 1288-03-07 and the second one located at 60m to the north of the first one, could correspond to the tuffite at the top of the Watson Lake Rhyolite.

It is appropriate here to recall that in the Matagami mining camp, the Key Tuffite marks the favourable contact between the rhyolitic lavas of the Watson Lake Formation at the base, overlain by the basaltic lavas of the Wabassee Formation. This horizon, which contains nearly all of the orebodies of the Matagami mining camp, corresponds to the level of time and space prevailing during the formation of the volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits of this mining camp.

It should be remembered here that in addition to its interests held 50:50 with SOQUEM INC in the exploration properties of the Matagami mining camp, Metco holds 100% interest in the Caber and Caber North base metal deposits both located on the same favourable horizon as the Du Dome-Matagami Property.
