As a result of the meeting, the metalcasting industry will participate in a mapping project to pinpoint the locations of cement kilns and other industries around the country. This map will help facilitate greater interaction between cement kilns and industries in close proximity that could potentially contribute their by-products. In addition, AFS will be working with PCA to develop a list of "Best Management Practices" (BMPs) for the use of molding sand as feedstock for cement production.
