MetalSpectrum Names Timothy J. Orie Vice President, Sales.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 2000

The Board of Directors for MetalSpectrum, an independent online marketplace for the metals industry, announced the appointment of Timothy J. Orie as vice president, sales. In that position, Mr. Orie will be responsible for national accounts and supplier development.

Mr. Orie joined MetalSpectrum from Allegheny Technologies Incorporated where he most recently served as vice president, Commercial, for Allegheny Rodney, a division of Allegheny Ludlum specializing in the production and distribution of stainless steel, nickel alloys and titanium strip products.

MetalSpectrum is an online marketplace that was designed to create value and increase efficiency across the supply chain for end-users, distributors and manufacturers of aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, copper, brass and other specialty metals.

Mr. Orie's extensive experience at Allegheny Technologies Incorporated, a world leader in the technology, production and marketing of specialty materials, included extensive sales and operation experience in both national and international marketplaces. In his most recent position at Allegheny Rodney, Mr. Orie was responsible for leading the sales effort for all accounts, including independent distributors and OEM's in the automotive, aerospace and consumer product markets. In addition, he managed the operations of six wholly-owned service center operations.

Throughout his tenure at Allegheny Technologies, Mr. Orie managed a $400 million sales region and successfully negotiated several multi-year agreements valued at $150 million with Fortune 200 accounts. In addition, he was responsible for all domestic and international sales and marketing for Rodney Metals and while with Allegheny Rodney, completed a successful commercial reorganization of three businesses into a single strategic business unit.
