SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MAY 24, 2000

Integration of Micromuse's NETCOOL(R)Applications and

MetaSolv's TBS(TM)Trouble Management Software Will Enable

Proactive Customer Care

Micromuse Inc. (Nasdaq:MUSE), the leading provider of fault and service-level management software, today announced that MetaSolv Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:MSLV), has joined the Micromuse Developers Alliance program as a Netcool(R) Solutions Partner(TM). The integration of Micromuse's Netcool suite with MetaSolv's Telecom Business Solution(TM) (TBS(TM)) Trouble Management Application Programming Interface (API) will enable automatic sharing of information between Micromuse's realtime fault management systems and MetaSolv's trouble ticketing system for enhanced management of network-based events and service.

The Micromuse Developers Alliance provides Micromuse and its alliance partners with the resources to cooperatively pursue business, technical and marketing opportunities. The goal of the program is to provide off-the-shelf, integrated solutions for our mutual customers. Toward that end, Micromuse actively enlists best-in-class solutions providers offering complementary applications. To date, more than 150 vendors have expressed interest in Micromuse's Developers Alliance, with 78 of those having enrolled in the program. Micromuse furnishes its approved Netcool Ready Partners with the Netcool Software Development Kit(TM) (SDK (Software Developer's Kit) See developer's toolkit and Windows SDK.

"Our goal with this integration of best-of-breed technologies is to provide end-to-end trouble resolution for our mutual customers," said Dana Brown, Vice President of Marketing at MetaSolv. "The TBS Netcool Gateway is an off-the-shelf solution that allows the MetaSolv/Micromuse customer to be proactive when it comes to managing network and service events throughout their operations centers."

The Netcool and TBS software interface, developed by Micromuse with the Netcool SDK, offers a solution that correlates network alarm information provided from the Netcool suite to related voice and data elements and customer information in the TBS database.

"By integrating the Netcool fault and service-level management solution with TBS order management and service fulfillment software, service providers will be able to quickly and effectively improve fulfillment and service assurance processes to provide better customer care," said Rosemary Hill, Global Director Micromuse Developers Alliance Program.
