MetLife administers dental benefits for nearly 21 million people, more than any other commercial carrier. MetLife has been working with Federal employees and their families for over fifty years - first with the Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance program and then with the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program and the Federal Thrift Savings Plan The Federal Thrift Savings Plan, or TSP, is a retirement savings plan for civilians who are, or previously were, employed by the United States Government and for members of the uniformed services. "MetLife is pleased to be selected by OPM, and considers it an acknowledgment of the quality and value we offer," says Todd Katz, MetLife senior vice president, Institutional Business. "We believe oral health is essential for overall well being as evidenced by growing research linking certain oral diseases to overall medical health. Since research also indicates that more than half of employees without dental insurance coverage will fail to see a dentist, dental benefits can be a cost-effective way to obtain preventive care as well as help build financial peace of mind against unforeseen - and unbudgeted - dental issues."
