Messing up in music. (Dear Highlights).

I have a problem in music. I practice a lot, and then when I play in front of my music teacher I get nervous and lose track and mess up.

Emily B., North Carolina

What you are experiencing has happened to many people, perhaps even your music teacher. He or she might have some suggestions on how to relax while you play.

It's certainly all right to lose track and make a mistake. That's part of learning something new. Remember to enjoy your music and not be too concerned about the mistakes you make as you are learning.
