Message from the national president. The modernization of our business processes remains the major long-term task of the Department of Defense. Each day brings new challenges, showing the magnitude and the difficulty of the task of modernizing defense financial management. Just as our war plans in Iraq showed flexibility and initiative, we must exhibit the same characteristics in our "war" to reform departmental business practices. In that regard I am pleased to announce that the name of our effort has been changed from Financial Management Modernization Program to Business Management Modernization Program to reflect the true scope of the endeavor. The Financial Management Enterprise Architecture was delivered on schedule and is under review. We have restructured the program into "domains." You should become familiar with all domains and in particular with the one on your area of operations. This knowledge can be gained through workshops or programs presented at mini-PDIs or found in articles published in the Armed Forces Comptroller. The channels of communication are open. Do not hesitate to make your suggestions to improve the final product. |
