Merseyrail to run Christmas fare special at 50p for each journey.
The scheme will run every Thursday evening in the six weeks before Christmas, beginning Thursday, November 17, and every Sunday during December.
The promotion is now in its 11th year and aims to give a seasonal boost to business, and reduce traffic congestion. More than 143,000 people took advantage of the scheme last year.
Tickets go on sale at Merseyrail stations from 4pm every Thursday (between November 17 and December 22), except at Liverpool city centre stations where they will go on sale from 6pm, as well as all day on Sundays in December until Christmas.
The offer is valid on Wirral, Northern and City Lines within the Merseyside boundary.
