Meridian Meridian (mərĭd`ēən), city (1990 pop. 41,036), seat of Lauderdale co., E Miss., near the Ala. line; settled 1831, inc. 1860.  announced the following transactions:

* A $4 million new mortgage for a six-story elevator elevator, in machinery
elevator, in machinery, device for transporting people or goods from one level to another. The term is applied to the enclosed structures as well as the open platforms used to provide vertical transportation in buildings, large ships,
 building on E. 15th St. in Brooklyn, N.Y. The loan featured a 5.25% rate and a 10-year term. Aaron M. Birnbaum and Carol Shelby negotiated this transaction;

* A $2.5 million new mortgage for a five-story walk-up building on First Ave AVE Avenue

* A $1.6 million new mortgage for a six-story co-op building on Brightwater Court in Brooklyn, N.Y. The loan featured a 5.11% rate and a 10-year term. Joseph Taub and Steve Geller negotiated this transaction;

* A $1.6 million new mortgage for a four-story walk-up building on 21st Ave. in Queens, N.Y. The loan featured a 5.12% rate and a seven-year term. Joseph Taub negotiated this transaction;

* A $1.25 million new mortgage for a five-story walk-up building on E. 58th St. in New York City. The loan featured a 5.25% rate and a seven-year term. Avi Weinstock and Moshe Majeski negotiated this transaction;

* A $1 million new mortgage for a two-story, 9,000 s/f office building on Spruce spruce, any plant of the genus Picea, evergreen trees or shrubs of the family Pinaceae (pine family) widely distributed in the Northern Hemisphere. The needles are angular in cross section, rather than flattened as in the related hemlocks and firs.  St. in Cedarhurst, N.Y. The loan featured a 5.375% rate and a 10-year term. Allan Lieberman negotiated this transaction.
