Merck Launches New Health Magazine, Your Health Now; Publication Driven by Content from The Merck Manuals; www.YourHealthNow.com Live Today.


WHITEHOUSE STATION, N.J. -- Merck & Co., Inc. announced today the launch of a new health magazine - Your Health Now - which puts useful, timely and unbiased health information directly into the hands of the general public. Your Health Now is powered by information and insights from The Merck Manuals, the world's most widely used medical reference books. The bi-monthly (every other month) magazine is being provided free-of-charge as part of Merck's commitment to provide health information resources (1) The data and information assets of an organization, department or unit. Each issue of Your Health Now will focus on a health topic or theme that has been selected based on the most frequently accessed topics on The Merck Manuals Web sites. Each issue also will feature an expert guest editor who will weigh in on a timely health issue related to that issue's theme. The magazine reviews recent medical research, answers common health questions and offers tips on pet health based on The Merck Veterinary Manual The Merck Veterinary Manual is a reference manual of animal health care. Advisory Board ensures unbiased content

In keeping with the 100-year tradition of The Merck Manuals, Your Health Now maintains strict editorial independence and does not promote any pharmaceutical medicines. In addition to Your Health Now Editor-In-Chief Dr. Robert Berkow, Dr. Mark Beers, editor-in-chief of The Merck Manual of Medical Information, serves as managing editor of Your Health Now.
