) announces that it has received approval from NASDAQ Europe to delist its shares from NASDAQ Europe effective November 27, 2003. Mercer's shares of beneficial interest will continue to be quoted for trading on the NASDAQ National Market in the United States ("NASDAQ U.S."), its principal trading market, and on the Toronto Stock Exchange Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE)

Canada's largest stock exchange, trading approximately 1,200 company stocks and 33 options.

The Company decided to delist its shares from NASDAQ Europe at this time due to minimal volume in its shares on NASDAQ's European exchange and the imminent closure of such exchange. Given the Company's minimal trading volume, the Company does not anticipate any adverse effect to its shareholders from the delisting of its shares on NASDAQ Europe. After delisting from NASDAQ Europe, the Company's shareholders can continue to trade Mercer's shares through NASDAQ U.S. and/or the TSX. In addition, shareholders can continue to receive information on the Company through its filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (www.sec.gov/edgar), Canadian securities regulatory authorities (www.sedar.com) and through the Company's website (www.mercerinternational.com).
