Dubbed "The First Annual Red Tail Ale Americana Music Festival," the event will present seven different bands playing Americana music. What is Americana? Simply put, it is American roots music, direct, unprocessed, well-produced rather than over-produced, with emphases on singing and songwriting expertise rather than fads or technology. Musicians often used the term Fat Music for this style. The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 15. The day will end on a high note as the Pipe and Bowl Morris Dancers present centuries-old dances which were Celtic tribal dances intended to be a blessing on the annual barley crop.
