Race Courses The New York race will start at 7am on September 29 in Central Park and move down the West Side Bike Path. Racers will face urban obstacles at Piers 84 and 54, then make their way into the historical Financial District where they tackle 52 flights of stairs at 7 World Trade Center, then meet their final obstacle in Battery Park. Participants cool down with a walk to the free Festival, which is open to the public, at the South Street Seaport The South Street Seaport is a historic area in the New York City borough of Manhattan, located where Fulton Street meets the East River, and adjacent to the Financial District. The Seaport is usually considered a historical district, distinct from the neighboring Financial District. . The Chicago race will begin at 8am on October 20 in Grant Park's Butler Field where participants will run north and face urban obstacles at the Navy Pier and North Avenue Beach. Upon returning south, Urbanathletes head to Northerly Island for another urban obstacle, then on to a vigorous stair climb at Soldier Field. From there, racers will move back north toward Butler Field for a final obstacle challenge and the finish line. The race will conclude with a free Festival at Grant Park, rain or shine.
