Members warned about calls from "AICPA employee" looking for firm staff names.

 has learned that during the past few months, someone posing as an AICPA employee has been contacting accounting firms claiming to need a list of the firm's employees under various pretenses (e.g., internal auditors Internal auditor

An employee of a company who analyzes the company's accounting records to that the company is following and complying with all regulations.

The Institute suspects this person is a headhunter headhunter A popular term for a person–or employment agency who recruits physicians, upper echelon executives or other professionals, matching potential employees with employers  attempting to obtain firm names, titles and phone numbers for use in recruitment efforts. Be assured the caller Caller may refer to one of the following:
  • Caller (telecommunications), a party that originates a call
  • Caller (dancing), a person that calls dance figures in round dances and square dances
  • Caller to Islam, the Islamic equivalent of a Christian missionary
