Members choose secretary, board members.During the business meeting at the Chicago convention, NCEW NCEW National Conference of Editorial Writers members elected Neil Heinen the organization's 2005 secretary and chose three new board members. It is also home to the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The 2006 population estimate of Madison was 223,389, making it the second largest city in Wisconsin, after Milwaukee, and , is in line to hold the presidency in 2008 after Charley Reinken, president; Kay Semion, vice president; and J.R. Labbe, treasurer. Semion will advance to the presidency in 2006; Labbe in 2007. Elected to the board were Peter Kohler, vice president of editorial services at Cablevision; Becca Rothschild, associate editor of the Detroit Free Press The Detroit Free Press is the largest daily newspaper in Detroit, Michigan, USA. It is sometimes informally referred to as the "Freep". Some still refer to it locally as "The Friendly" -- a slogan from an ad campaign in the '70s. ; and Pat Widder, Chicago Tribune editorial board member. Members approved bylaws The rules and regulations enacted by an association or a corporation to provide a framework for its operation and management. Bylaws may specify the qualifications, rights, and liabilities of membership, and the powers, duties, and grounds for the dissolution of an to facilitate the registration of NCEW in its new headquarters state of Pennsylvania. They selected Kansas City as the site of the 2007 convention, following Portland in 2005 and Pittsburgh in 2006. |
