Douglas Bryant, superintendent and secretary to the Board of Commissioners for Three Rivers Park District Three Rivers Park District is a regional park district serving the suburban areas of Hennepin County, Minnesota and Scott County, Minnesota. It also operates Carver Park Reserve in Carver County, Minnesota, Murphy Hanrehan Park Reserve, a portion of which is in Dakota County, and , was honored last month as one of 100 Distinguished Alumni for the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota (body, education) University of Minnesota - The home of Gopher.

Bryant received a bachelor's degree in Park and Recreation Administration from the College of Education and Human Development in 1972. Since his graduation, Bryant has held park and recreation leadership positions at the cities of Mounds View, Brooklyn Center Brooklyn Center, city (1990 pop. 28,887), Hennepin co., SE Minn., a residential suburb of Minneapolis; inc. 1911. Board of Commissioners Chair, Jim Deane said "As superintendent, Doug Bryant has worked tirelessly to establish Three Rivers Park District as a national leader among natural resources-based park systems in the areas of environmental stewardship, financial management and park development practices."

During his tenure as superintendent, Three Rivers Park District has made major acquisitions, including three new regional parks, Lake Minnetonka Regional Park, North Mississippi Regional Park North Mississippi Regional Park is a joint effort of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and the Three Rivers Park District and lies within the larger Mississippi National River and Recreation Area.  and Eagle Lake Regional Park, as well as Silverwood, a center for arts and environment, Gale Woods Farm, a contemporary working farm, and Historic Murphy's Landing, an historic interpretive village.
