Melville building gets a makeover.

A prime Melville office building will get an extensive lobby facelift as part of an effort to make it more competitive with newer properties in the bustling Route 110 corporate corridor.

The re-designed lobby of the 98,329 s/f, class A 125 Baylis Road will feature a glass-lined grand entrance stairway, wood walls and an art gallery, according to the commercial real estate services firm Sutton & Edwards Inc./TCN Worldwide, managing and leasing agent for the property. The modernization was designed by Ehasz Giacalone Architects.

"We believe this will change the image of the building and make it competitive with many of the new buildings in Melville," said Sutton & Edwards president Alan H. Rosenberg. The building was constructed in 1980.

Sutton & Edwards also announced that a new lease and two lease renewals were signed for office space at the property.

RRT Design & Construction Corp., a provider of services and products for solid waste processing systems and recycling facilities, a current tenant in the building, signed a long-term lease for 7,406 s/f. Key Management Group Inc., a global software development company, renewed its lease for 5,404 s/f and Summit Security Services Inc., a protective-services firm, renewed its lease for 3,247 s/f.

Asking rent in the building is $24 per s/f plus electric. Major occupants include the accounting firm Holtz Rubinstein Reminick LLP.
