What's important to know is that this is not a reading of Moby-Dick, the novel. It is an adaptation of the story, read by four wonderful actors, including F. Murray Abraham as Captain Ahab. It is filled with wonderful sound effects, old whaling songs and dialogue that sound modern, not like the original. On the other hand, the descriptions are pure Melville so the modern listener will get a flavor of the original language. The production captures the angst of the main character as he seeks his nemesis, the great white whale white whale: see beluga.  Moby-Dick; the conflict among the main characters is also well portrayed. As a supplement to the original, this dramatization would make a good addition to a school or community library and would be enjoyed by all members of the family, serving as a stimulus to read the original. Entertaining and well done. Nola Theiss, Sanibel, FL
